To gain admission to Turanga Ararau you need to be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. To gain entry to the programme you will need to have literacy and numeracy skills at step 3 or above on the assessment tool, preferably a level 2 qualification in the industry or equivalent experience and a demonstrated commitment to work in the industry.
This programme is designed to help you gain employment in the agriculture industry in a range of industry sectors. In successfully completing this programme you will be awarded the New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Vehicles Machinery and Infrastructure) Level 3

Start Date: Are flexible depending upon enrolments
Hours will generally be from 8.00am to 4.00pm with a lunch break of 30 minutes at 12 noon.
The on job work experience component will be the hours that are worked by the work experience provider in the agriculture industry so you can expect to be on the job working by 8am or earlier and not finishing until at least 4.00 pm—Monday to Friday.
On successfully completing this programme you will have the qualification, skills and knowledge to:
New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture - Level 4 (Breeding Livestock Farming strand)
Work as a general hand, fencer, junior shepherd, farm assistant or in other similar roles in the farming industry.
Once in employment you can continue to upskill and complete industry qualifications through the Industry Training Organisation, PrimaryITO with the support of your employer.
